[Catalyst] Unpack and Run vs. Install and Run Catalyst apps

I didn't install my cat apps too, but they stopped working after about one day 
with the error message that the libraries for the controllers can't be found 
any more.
I'm running under debian testing with apache2 and mod_perl2.
Somehow it seems that the specified libdir is lost...
Now I install my apps and the problem has gone away...
