I'm pretty sure you can too, although I believe ir requires changes to 
the httpd.conf so set various Media/Style options. Not terribly 
difficult, but it's nice not to have to even edit that file to do such 
things. :-)

The same is possible in .NET if you write custom HttpHandlers and load 
them into IIS. Again, more work.

I can be lazy in Catalyst. :-)
