You mean accessing tables from templates? not storing templates in the 
db?

The glue is $c->stash.

     $c->stash->{foo} = MyApp::M::CDBI::Table->search(...);

     [% foo.first.somefield %]

Cat is quite young, so most apps are still in development. ;)
